Hi friends! Happy Thursday!
I hope everyone’s week has been a good one! I’m SO ready for Friday, haha as always. This weekend we’re going to Ren Fest with some friends, so we are even MORE excited than usual for the weekend to GET HERE!!
I feel like we’ve been SO busy this month. We already have things planned for pretty much every weekend in October haha! I love October, it’s my favorite month because there is so much fun, fall stuff to do. I love getting to do things with J for the fall and we try to be super good about planning fun date nights and date days with each other to get out of the house and spend time on us.
Today I wanted to share a few fun, fall date night ideas in case you’re wanting to get out and have some fun with your SO this season! I think having date nights is super important in a relationship so that you make sure you’re setting time aside for the other person and focusing on them. So here are some fun fall date night ideas for you and your BOO to do! ๐
1. Visit a Pumpkin Patch
This is a MUST for me! I love pumpkin patches and look forward to them every single year. Jordan and I went last year together and got some fun pics, as well as this year too! We always have a good time walking around and looking at all the different pumpkins together. Luckily, since they are normally outside, you are able to socially distance and stay a good distance away from other people!
2. Bake a Pie Together
Fun fact about Jordan: his family used to own a pie shop and they were known for making the best pies around! Pies are one of my all-time favorite desserts, so baking pies together is something that we love to do and that gives us all the fall feels. (Don’t forget the ice cream! Pie a la mode is my FAVE!)
3. Watch a Football Game
Football and fall just seem to go together in my mind. I grew up always going to my brother’s football games when they were in the band, then I was a twirler in high school and college so I always went to the games to twirl every week. I LOVE football games and enjoy the energy, the food and the company. We had the pleasure of going to a UT game this past weekend, and I was super happy with how they were handling social distancing and mask-enforcement. We were by two people we knew, so we felt comfortable not wearing masks around them, but other than that, if we were up out of our seats, masks had to be worn and people were distanced in the stands. It was so nice to be able to go to a game and enjoy this fun fall activity!
4. Visit a Haunted House Together
Okay I LOVE Halloween, as you all probably know by now, and one thing I’ve ALWAYS wanted to do that I haven’t yet is go to a haunted house! I think it would be so much fun and I would love to do it as a date night activity (heehee cue being scared and making Jordan protect me! ๐ย We are hoping to go to a haunted house this year at some point! I’ve heard a lot of them around us are distancing groups of people so if you go with a group, you have to stay with your group and they will space out who they allow to go before/after you.
5. Pick Fall Flowers
Fall flowers are so gorgeous! I love all of the gorgeous colors and how they look when in an arrangement. Going out to pick fall flowers together is so much fun and it gets you out of the house to do something beautiful. You could make a day out of it and grab lunch, pick fall flowers and even grab a new vase or something to put them in!
6. Visit the Farmer’s Market for Local Fall-Themed Goodies
Who else loves going to the Farmer’s Market on the weekends?? We haven’t had the chance to go to one in Austin yet, but we’re hoping to go within the next couple weeks! I love supporting local small businesses that go out there and sell their craft. Plus, you always find so much fun, fall stuff during this time and going to see all the vendors set up and walk around to explore is a fun experience in itself.
7. Visit a Winery
My personal favorite kind of date heehee… Wineries are so much fun and I love getting to go sample all the different kind of wine and learn about it. We’ve gone to Fredericksburg before, which is known for wineries, and it’s always a fun time. If you’re in the Austin area, we also love going to the wineries in the Georgetown Square! This is also a super fun date idea because you can order a glass of wine at a winery there, then take it around the square as you walk around and poke in and out of the shops. It’s especially nice this time of year since it’s cool outside!
8. Go on a Hike
One thing Jordan and I both love is being outside! We were planning an entire trip this year to go to Colorado and go hiking with some friends, however due to COVID, that has been delayed. BUT that doesn’t mean we can’t still check out some local hiking trails and have fun outside here in ATX! I recently downloaded the AllTrails app and site, which tells you which hiking trails are near you and also gives you helpful info such as how long they are, and the times at which they are crowded. We want to check out some of the ones we’ve come across pretty soon and have a day outside, relaxing and just enjoying each other’s company.
9. Watch Halloween Movies and Make Hot Cocoa
Okay you guys KNOW I love a good Halloween movie! Jordan and I have been working our way through our list of Halloween movies for this month! The other night, we made hot cocoa and snuggled up on the couch to watch Hocus Pocus. It was so much fun and really gets you into the fall feels! Check out my list of Top 10 Halloween Movies from a couple years ago (recently updated with new links for where to watch!) if you’re looking for some Halloween movie inspo!
10. Go to a Drive-In Movie
How romantic is this?!? I’ve actually never been to a drive-in movie but it is DEFINITELY on my bucket list of things to do in the fall! Jordan has a ton of space in the back of his car, so I really want to take his car out to the drive-in movie theater here in Austin, put a bunch of fluffy blankets in the back, break out the snacks and watch a movie together. Honestly, this would probably be my all-time FAVE date night heehee, it seems like so much fun and I love the thought of doing this together. If you aren’t sure if your city has a drive-in, type it into Google to see! I honestly didn’t know Austin had one until I looked it up on Google and now I can’t wait to go!
I hope this list helps give you some fun ideas for some fall date nights to do with your SO! Have you already done some of these?? What’s your favorite one to do or one you really want to try??
Thanks for reading lovelies! Until the next post, Xx.

All great ideas! I missed the pumpkin patch this year to avoid the crowds but managed to get my fix at my local farmers market, lol. xoxo, Sarah
Drive-ins and wineries are two of our favorite date night activities! Love the other ones on your list as well. I’ve never been to a football game (aside from like… high school ones…) so that would be a great option too!
These are all such fun ideas! My husband and I haven’t gone on a date in so long. We’re due for one!
Wonderful suggestions! I love to visit pumpkin patches and go apple picking in fall.
