So as I mentioned in my last post, this past weekend I went to visit my aunt’s house in Austin and spend a couple days with my family, catching up and planning our family trip to Disney for over New Year’s. I walked into the house and immediately stopped dead in my tracks.
So first, let me mention that my aunt is a master decorator. Like, she should seriously have her own show when it comes to decorating, planning, making things, anything like that. So imagine what it’s like for me, possibly the biggest fall fan out there, to walk into her house and see how she had decorated for fall.
Pumpkins, burlap, reds, browns, golds, all mixed together and combined in a way that created a fabulously decorated home that was perfectly ready for the fall season. I was IN LOVE.
So I decided I would put together a post for you guys on some ways that you can “fall-ify” your home and make it into a gorgeous fall, picturesque place as well! 🍂
Fall Candles
Raise your hand if you’ve already gone to Bath & Body Works and picked out your fall candles!! *both hands in air and jumping up and down* Oh yes, we all know that the fall season actually begins when Bath & Body Works starts putting out their fall candles, and I am always one of the first ones in the store when they are out! I love candles in general; I think they are great obviously for making a space smell wonderful, but I love the feel that they create in a space as well. The mesmerizing yet gentle flicker of the flame and hearing the wick crackle or pop every once and a while. I think it really relaxes people and creates such an inviting space to cozy down on a cool fall evening.
*Bed Bath & Beyond also carries WoodWick candles, which are wonderful because they sound like a crackling fire as they burn! So relaxing, I use them all throughout the year!)
Fall Table
The thing that really caught my eye at my aunt’s house was my aunt’s dining room table. She had it decorated with a cute fall centerpiece, mini trees with lights in the branches, and all of her plates, glasses and bowls matched the decor and were neatly set up in their places. Layering the bowls and plates added so much to the table and it was nice to see everything laid out together. I think the most important thing when decorating your fall table is to focus on your centerpiece. It’s the first thing that catches the eye and it really draws the entire table together! The way she decorated the trees in her centerpiece with mini string lights really added to the ambiance of the room, and made the space feel even more warm and inviting.
Leaves & Pumpkins
I would say one of the greatest things to incorporate into your fall decorations would be leaves! They are inexpensive to buy and you can paint them or decorate them if you can’t find ones exactly like you are looking for. (I always like to spray mine with a little spray glitter to make them sparkle and stand out!) Pumpkins are another perfect decor piece to incorporate when decorating your house for fall. Again, you can paint them or spray them to add a little extra flare if you aren’t finding exactly what you want at the store. (I like to spray paint my pumpkins in matte neutral colors and use them around the house to also go along with the decor I normally have up in my apartment!)
These are just a few ways you can decorate your home for the fall season! There are so many ways you can go about decorating for fall and transform your home into a warm and inviting space for fall. I hope you guys enjoyed and let me know if you have any other fall decor ideas! 🍂
