Happy Thursday everyone! I hope everyone’s week has gone great so far!
Today I wanted to hop on here and share a few options for dresses that are appropriate to wear to work. If you’ve ever walked outside at 4pm on a June day in TX, you’ll know why I’m sharing this. Add wearing jeans or worse, slacks, and you practically feel like you’re going to burst into flames. I GET IT.
So lately I’ve been purchasing a few dresses that are cute and stylish, but also appropriate to wear at the office. Now some of these I do realize are strappy dresses and spaghetti straps aren’t often allowed at the office. I normally have a jacket on while I’m inside my office building since it’s FREEZING in there anyways so this isn’t a problem for me. I would just recommend throwing on a jean jacket over any of the spaghetti strap dresses and you’ll be good to go! Jean jackets aren’t normally too warm anyways and you can always shed it when you go outside too.
These dresses are all super affordable (all under $30!) and are all really cute and have a great summery vibe to them. Although I bought these to wear to work, they’re cute and stylish enough so that I’m also planning to wear them on the weekends when I want a cute, flowy dress to wear around.
Sage Green Skater Dress
I wasn’t sure how I felt about this dress when I first put it on, but after I threw on a pair of heeled sandals and added this Amazon belt, I really grew to love it! I think it’s a really modest dress so it’s great to wear to the office, especially if you have a more restrictive dress code. It’s only $27 so it’s highly affordable and a perfect summer dress! (I also think it’s great for fall too, so you can get multiple-season wear out of it!)
Sizing Deets: I ordered a size small.
Fit: True to size, elastic waist; A little tight around shoulders, I would size up if you have broader shoulders.
Yellow Button-Down Dress
This dress is so stinkin cute! I absolutely love the color and fit. It is a spaghetti-strapped dress, so I paired it with a denim jacket since this is how I would wear it to work and make it work-appropriate. I really love this dress because it’s one that I would 100% wear on the weekends as well. It’s comfy, cute and the color is bright and cheery. The perfect kind of outfit to wear for summer!
Sizing Deets: I ordered a size small.
Fit: True to size; fits perfectly!
Blue Striped Dress
Okay this is by far the most comfortable dress out of the three I’m sharing. The material honestly feels like BUTTER!! If you’ve followed along for a while, you know I love a good blue and white striped look. The pattern just reminds me of summer and makes me think I should be out on a boat, sailing along in the ocean! Again, this is a spaghetti-strapped dress, so I did pair it with a denim jacket to make it work-appropriate, but again this is something I would 100% wear on the weekends when J and I are heading out and about. (P.S. This denim jacket is super similar to the one I’m wearing AND it’s on sale right now!)
Sizing Deets: I ordered a size small.
Fit: True to size; fits perfectly! Lots of give and stretch to the material, which makes it extremely comfortable.
I hope this was helpful and I hope you guys liked one of these dresses at least and found something you can wear to work in the summer to avoid having to wear pants in 100+ degree weather. I am so happy with these dresses and honestly can’t wait to order more. Amazon can kinda be hit or miss a lot of the time, but I think it’s safe to say that I’m 100% happy with all three of these dresses! Which one is your favorite??
Thanks for reading lovelies and until the next post, Xx.
