Bright and Colorful Workwear for Summer

Happy Workday Wednesday! Where are all of my 9-5 ladies?!?

I work a 9-5 job myself (actually 7-5, but who’s counting) so I know the struggle of trying to find affordable work wear, without having to compromise fashion and style. I always find myself buying bright, fun, spunky new clothes to wear on the weekends or out with my gals after work, but when it comes to what I actually wear to work… That’s a different story. I realized this the other day when I went to put my clothes out at night before bed (I’m not a morning person… I’m literally always late, so anything I can do to cut down on time in the morning helps!) and I found myself staring into a black abyss in my closet. 99% of my work clothes are black.

Here I am buying bright pink and purple crop tops, strappy shoes and floppy hats for spring and summer to strut my stuff in on the weekends, yet I have exactly two colored tops to wear to work. (That’s right… TOPS. All my pants and skirts are, you guessed it, BLACK.) Now, I’m not trying to complain, because I love wearing black. It’s flattering, goes with everything, and somehow just looks good on everyone. But it’s hard to go from dressing in bright, fun colors on the weekend, to dressing in [basically] all black during the week.

So, I decided to start working on adding more spring/summer appropriate clothing to my work wardrobe. I wanted COLOR. Pinks, purples, blues… I wanted it all! So I figured I would work on adding some brighter colors to my office attire wardrobe to prepare for the summertime.

I knew I for sure wanted a pair of white pants to wear for the summer since all of my bottoms for work are black, and this pair definitely did not disappoint! Just by feeling these, you can tell the material is super high-quality and not see-though in the least.

This pink shell top is such a pretty color and is a top I figured I could wear during the weekend with jeans as well as to work with my white pants! I love the button-back detail it has that gives it such a feminine look along with the texture itself all around the top that gives it a little extra flare, rather than if it was just plain.
