Happy Hump Day lovelies!
First off, I’ll start by saying so sorry for being super absent on here lately. I feel like I’ve gone completely AWOL, BUT in case you haven’t seen my Instagram stories the past week, it’s because Jordan and I are MOVING!!! I won’t go into all of the details right now since that’s not what this post is about, but just know that I am planning to do a full and very detailed blog post soon all about the move and our decision. So stay tuned for that!!
But for today’s post, since Valentine’s Day is literally in TWO DAYS and I have yet to share really anything about V-Day on here, I wanted to at least get one last minute post out and share some options for all of you who are doing the exact same thing J and I will most likely be doing… Staying home! We love going out, and honestly haven’t completely decided what we will be doing for sure yet, but I think both of us just really want to stay tucked away in our new place and get comfortable being there together.
SO, if any of you are planning to have a low-key V-Day as well, I wanted to hop on and share a couple good ideas for what to do and most importantly, what to EAT! I’ll link a few of our favorite recipes we love to cook as well as a couple ideas I think are fun, romantic and a great way to spend Valentine’s Day at home.
What to Eat
Garlic Butter Steak and Potatoes by eatwell101 – This is a favorite for Jordan and me! He made this for us for the first time on New Years Eve and MAN was it good. We ended up eating the entire pan before the night was over! I personally think steak is a perfect meal to cook for a romantic dinner. Add some red wine (we really love red blends!) and you’re good to go!
Brown Sugar Pork Chops and Mashed Potatoes by The Love Nerds – Okay I won’t lie, we haven’t actually made these, BUT they are on our list! I love pork chops and, although I don’t have a recipe I can link for it, if you want to try something other than these brown sugar ones, I would recommend putting this Raspberry Chipotle Marinade with it! This marinade is good with literally ANYTHING, but it specifically goes great with pork chops. It’s both me and my mom’s favorite sauce and now I think I’ve hooked Jordan on it as well!
Instant Pot Pot Roast – Lastly, I think this is a great option, specifically if you and your Valentine will both be working during the day on Friday and don’t want to come home and have to start a ton of preparations for a meal. This pot roast (UM YUMMY!!) can be cooking in the Instant Pot while you guys kick back with a glass of wine and start a movie! Plus I mean who doesn’t love pot roast?!? Seriously one of my favorite meals.
What to Do
Have an Indoor Picnic by Olive Design House – I came across this on Pinterest the other day when I was looking up “at-home date ideas” for J and I, and absolutely loved it! I think this is such a fun thing to do and a great way to really add a romantic flare to the dinner. I would also add some soft music in the background for a nice and romantic ambiance!
Dinner and a Movie (with Wine) – Okay I don’t have anything to link this to, because this is honestly just what I would do, so I thought I would share! My idea of a perfect date night is dinner and wine, so if you throw a movie in with it, I’m golden! I would also recommend choosing a movie genre that you both like! For example, obviously it’s Valentine’s Day, so you might be more inclined to go with a romantic movie. However, if your SO doesn’t like romance movies, they probably aren’t going to be super interested. To be honest, Jordan and I will probably be watching a horror movie, because while I like romance movies, he will watch one for me, but isn’t super interested in them. However we both enjoy watching horror movies and even more so together! So it’s a win-win!
Bake Valentine’s Day Desserts Together – Okay again, no link to anywhere for this particular idea, but this is just one of me and J’s favorite things to do together! I’ve always loved baking (I even want to open my own bakery/cafe one day!) and Jordan has always been SUPER supportive. He even loves to jump right in and help me when I go into the kitchen to bake something for us! So it’s become something we both love to do; we’ll both work together to prepare everything and then once it’s in the oven, I’ll sit on the counter with him right in front of me and we’ll just talk and flirt and try to stop each other from taking the treats out of the oven early because they smell SO. DANG. GOOD. If you’re looking for a good Valentine’s Day recipe to bake, we’ve made these Valentine’s Day Sugar Cookies and they were SUPER yummy. We also have these Valentine’s Day Macarons on our list so who knows, we might just be baking them right along with you this V-Day! ๐
I hope this helps a little bit when deciding what you want to do this Valentine’s Day if you’re staying in and laying low this year. If you do any of these, please tag me so I can see! I hope all of you have a wonderful Valentine’s Day this year and thanks for reading lovelies. XOXO

I love the idea of a low key dinner and movie at home, especially since Valentine’s Day falls on a Friday this year!
Valentine’s Day or not these sound delish! Will definitely be trying some of these! xoxo, Sarah
So many cute ideas here! My husband and I will be traveling and at an Airbnb in a tiny NJ town. So our plan is to get Chinese takeout and watch basketball – which is like the perfect night to me!
we tend to do a nice dinner together at our house since we both love cooking, so I’m bookmarking this post!
Yes to all of this! We will honestly probably do most of the above – indoor picnic, bake together, and a movie.

I do love the sound of those Valentine Day’s plans – I hope you had a wonderful time whatever you decided to do and eat in the end. I agree that Valentine’s Day celebrations at home can be super fun, especially if you like to avoid crowds or have your kids join in the fun.
Awesome photo you have shared here, Thanks a lot for sharing it because it make myself to love.
