Ya know that period between summer and fall where you just don’t know what to wear? That period where it’s technically fall since it’s the ber-months, but it still feels like summer (especially if you’re in Texas where it’s 100 degrees outside). It’s super hard to figure out what to wear during this time since you want to look one way (bring on fall weather baby!) but it’s still hot and feeling like summer. That’s why I wanted to share a look that can be worn during the awkward summer to fall period and can be transitioned into a full-on fall look with just a couple super easy changes!
Outfits like the one I’m wearing here are what I like to wear during this transition period because it gives you the perfect mix of fall fashion without the sweat and heat of summer. Tops like this sleeveless turtleneck are perfect because it can be layered with a long sleeved shirt underneath or a leather jacket or coat for when it gets cooler! I also love the fact that you can wear it by itself with jeans or jeggings when you want to go a little cooler throughout the day.
For this outfit, I paired it with a pair of denim shorts so that I stay cool in the Texas heat, but I’m still able to get the fall-time feel with the turtleneck aspect of the top along with the deep maroon color. I chose to finish off the look with my favorite little open-toe booties from Vince Camuto I scored during the NSale this year! They are super comfortable and the block heel makes them easy to walk in. As it gets colder, I’ll be pairing this sleeveless turtleneck top with a pair of skinny jeans/jeggings and a leather jacket to keep the chill away when running errands throughout the day or hitting the town at night!
