Knee-high boots with skirts and sweaters over here, sassy dresses tied up with belts and topped off with the cutest booties over there. It seems like wherever you look, you see an adorable and perfectly styled outfit for fall, and you can wear it two out of the seven days each week. Why is that, you might ask? Because all of the other five days, I am stuck wearing slacks or pencil skirts to work, trying my best to dress it up with appropriate tops and sweaters to still have some element of fall fashion, while also managing to retain the business-casual look.
Am I alone in this?!
I feel like you have to choose one or the other when you are a working professional (but really a fashionista at heart). Well I’m sorry, but that just does not work for me. I want to wake up in the morning, throw on my chic, fall outfit with my scarf and booties, and head out the door to the office! So for this month’s Workday Wednesday blog post, I wanted to share an outfit option I’ve put together that fits in with the fall fashion craze, but is also working-professional approved!
I usually wear pencil skirts everyday to work, but it’s more difficult to do that when it’s cold out! So for the fall, I will be throwing on some black tights underneath my skirts I wear for work to keep my legs warm and cozy. I also decided to pair this outfit with my denim button up shirt from Forever 21 and a pair of my old faithful boots. I LOVE the way brown looks with denim, the combination is one of my favorites to pair together! To top it off, I added this plaid scarf to add a little pop of color to the ensemble! (Little pops of color always brighten my mood throughout the workday when I look in the mirror and see a little pop of something pretty and fun!) As it continues to get colder, I’ll throw on my black peacoat to keep me warm and add another element of a fall/wintery look.
Happy Workday Wednesday friends! Xx
