The colder weather is finally starting to creep up here in Texas, and with that comes a whole lot of wind, rain, and humidity changes. We could have 80% humidity one day and 30% the next! It’s crazy, and every year when this kind of weather rolls around, my hair and skin both start to change.
I’ve always had super sensitive skin (I had eczema when I was a kid and my skin would get dry and crack open when the weather got colder) so moisturizing and finding skin products that work for me was a challenge. When I started high school, I started using face masks (partly because I loved them and partly because UH GIRLS NIGHTS, HELLO!!!) It was hard to find ones though that didn’t dry out my skin or cause my face to become overly oily. After trying about 100 different face masks, I finally discovered Sephora face masks a couple years ago and I was hooked! They didn’t make my skin break out or become too oily or dry out. My skin also just had such a healthy-looking glow after I used them, I loved it!
One day, I was shopping in Sephora and I accidentally picked up a hair mask instead of a face mask (the packaging looks super similar, it’s easy to do DON’T JUDGE) and only realized my mistake after already having driven home and showered for the evening. When I pulled out my face mask, ready to let it work it’s magic, I soon realized I grabbed the wrong one. Not one to waste money, I decided I might as well give the hair mask a try since I had already purchased it and was in my “treat yo self” mood, and IT. WAS. AMAZING.
First of all, it smells incredible. My favorite is the coconut one, because it seriously makes me feel like I’m at the beach, drinking pina coladas! ๐ I wasn’t sure how I was going to like it at first, since it’s an overnight hair mask that you sleep in and wash out in the morning, but it honestly did not bother me at all and it worked wonders on my hair with softening it and helping to make it silkier. I curl my hair a lot and blow dry it occasionally as well, so I like doing hair masks to soften my hair and help add moisture and shine. These also have helped me with preventing split ends since they are so nourishing for my hair.
If you are like me and need a little something extra for your hair and skin during the colder months, then I would definitely recommend trying these! As I mentioned before, I’ve battled eczema for years, and while it’s gotten a lot better as I’ve grown and gotten older, it still acts up during the cold months and I have to make sure to keep my skin moisturized to avoid dry skin.
If you are interested in trying either of these masks, I would definitely recommend trying out this combo set of the coconut Sephora products!! I found this online a few months ago and have absolutely loved them! I’m even giving away THREE SETS on my Instagram for three of my followers to try! If you want to enter the giveaway, head over to my Instagram page and follow the instructions on my most recent post about the coconut Sephora set!
