Since it’s still January and by definition still winter, I was all ready and prepared to write this post over layering pieces for the cold weather and where you could find the best warm pieces. However, I walked outside on my balcony the other morning to check the weather for the day and was stunned to have been greeted by a bright and sunny, 70 degree day.
So the other day on Instagram, I took a poll to see what my followers were shopping for right now… Winter wear or spring wear.
The majority won for spring wear! So, I figured I would write a post for this week over some different options for light layering pieces that were affordable and would help get your closet prepped for spring.
I personally love the spring time when the weather is cool and everything is starting to get warm again, but it’s not to the sweltering point of summer yet (looking at you, Texas). I love getting to go to the Outlet Mall on the weekends and walk around and feel a gentle breeze sweeping by and just feeling so cool and fresh outside! I normally wear a lot of light cardigans in the Spring over crop tops or sleeveless tops, that way I have something covering my shoulders if the breeze gets too cold for me, but I also have the option of shedding my cardigan if the sun comes out and starts to shine! I generally wear outfits like this with jeans right now, since we are still in January, but as the months get warmer and warmer, I will pair my tank tops and cardigans with shorts and make it look even more “springy.” This is one of my favorite cardigans for spring and summer since it is so thin and easy to throw in my bag or purse if I end up getting a little too warm throughout the day. Plus, it’s only $7.99, so that’s always a plus! ๐
I also love throwing a thin pullover or sweater on with a bralette or thin cami! It creates such a simple look, but is so chic and perfect for this “warm, but still technically in winter” time us Texans are experiencing. You can make it look more like a winter look by throwing on a pair of knee-high or thigh-high boots with it, or give it more of a spring-time feel by throwing on a pair of high-heeled sandals or pumps!
Are your exact jeans still available somewhere? The ones in the link do not look the same – the distressing is very different.
Hey! Unfortunately, they’re sold out. :/ I tried to find a similar pair, but here are some other options that are similar as well!
