The first cold snap of the season has arrived and I don’t know about you guys but I am loving the cooler weather, even if it is just in the 70s here in TX. When weather like this rolls around and the nights start to get cooler, I always find myself moseying into the kitchen looking for something warm and sweet (thanks to my constant sweet tooth). This generally leads to me making hot chocolate, complete with marshmallows, whipped cream, and enough chocolate syrup to have me bouncing off the walls alllllll through the movie Jordan and I are usually trying to watch! However, this past weekend we decided to try out something a little different… Pumpkin spice white hot chocolate.
Doesn’t it just sound delicious?!? Well let me tell you, it far exceeded my expectations and I think it’s safe to say, this is going to become a new fall tradition in my house! Here’s how you can make it:
Ingredients:
1 cup heavy cream
2 cups milk
1 cup white chocolate chips
1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
1/2 teaspoon pumpkin spice
Whipped cream
Directions:
Step 1: Combine heavy cream and milk in a saucepan and stir over medium heat until hot (not boiling).
Step 2: Put white chocolate chips into a medium-sized bowl. Pour heated cream and milk over the chips and stir until they are melted.
Step 3: Stir in vanilla extract and pumpkin spice until well combined. Top with whipped cream and an extra sprinkle of pumpkin spice and enjoy!
It’s so so good, and I would definitely say that you can have this as a dessert! It’s super thick and sweet, which is EXACTLY the kind of hot chocolate I like on a cold, crisp fall night while cuddled up inside watching movies. I hope you guys try it and love it as much as we did!!
