Happy Friday friends! Man this week has been a doozy to say the least. I was hoping to post 2-3 times this week (as you’ll see why later in my post here), however, that just did not happen. It was a crazy busy week trying to catch up with things at work after being out for a week and a half, plus we just got our new kitten last week so she’s been acclimating to life with us, then we had family come and stay with us this week, AND to top it all off, we’ve all been watching the news and seeing what’s been going on this week. Like I said, it’s been a crazy week and although I didn’t get this post out, or any of the others I wanted to push live this week, I’m going to give myself grace both today as well as moving forward this year.
Anyways, today since this is my first blog post of the new year, I decided to share some of my blogging goals with all of you. Normally I share my new year resolutions and they’re normally pertaining to my personal life, but honestly I’m pretty happy with where I am in my personal life! I’ve finally found a workout schedule I like, I’m in a relationship with someone I love and I’m doing well at this point in my career. Now of course, I have a few goals personally that I want to work on, but I thought it might be more interesting to share my blogging goals since I haven’t updated you guys on where I am with Chaos and Coffee and where I want it to go.
So, with that being said, here are my top 5 goals for Chaos and Coffee I’d like to achieve in 2021!
1. Increase Engagement on My Instagram Posts
Ahhhh the struggle that plagues all bloggers and influencers. Engagement is so important to brands when you try to pitch to them and a lot of the time, it’s something that can make or break a collaboration or partnership. It’s sad too because so many bloggers and influencers work so hard for hours on end to try and create quality content, only to post it to Instagram and only have a few people engage with it. I know at least I always try to not let it get to me, but it definitely does at times. One of my goals for 2021 is to focus on what I can do to increase engagement and therefore, give my audience the kind of content they like and want. I love listening to any feedback from all of you and it’s always very appreciated when I go to plan my content for the week and month!
2. Start Posting on My YouTube Channel
“Whaaaaaaat, you have a YouTube channel?!?” Hahah technically yes, I do. I have never posted anything on there though, nor have I marketed it at all, so I’m not really sure if it counts. BUT I DO technically have one, and I want to start doing more with it this year! I’ve never been very comfortable when it comes to making videos. It took me nearly a YEAR to get comfortable just talking on my Instagram Stories (for those of you who were around when I FIRST started my blog and started sharing stuff on Instagram, BLESS YOU) so I’m sure the first YouTube videos I take a stab at won’t be anything super groundbreaking lol. But, I’m excited to give it a try and see where it goes! I’ve been wanting to do this for a while and 2020 was just too crazy for me to try to get anything new started, so I’m hoping I can get it off the ground in 2021.
3. Grow My Monthly Views on Pinterest
This is something I started working on a few months ago and I have been so happy with how much my Pinterest views (and therefore, blog views) have grown! I’ve learned a lot over the past few years blogging about how to best utilize social media to grow your blog and market yourself. One social media site that I think is really a “hidden gem” when it comes to marketing yourself is Pinterest! I could spend hours a day on Pinterest (and often times do haha) so it makes sense that sharing the content you create both for Instagram and for my blog here, can be shared and marketed to the Pinterest audience. I feel like I’ve grown so much in the best ways possible through really trying to focus more on Pinterest the last few months, so I can’t wait to see how I continue to learn and grow more in 2021!
4. Remain Consistent with My Blog Views
Blog views have never been super important to me in the past, just because I feel like I write what I want to write and the people who do read it, are supportive and encouraging. I still feel this way, but especially over the last few months both with utilizing Pinterest, and with sharing so much content over the holiday season, my blog views have really begun to climb and it makes it a lot easier to pitch to brands for collaborations! I love being able to show a steady flow of growth with my blog, so it shows that this IS going somewhere. I’ve known and believed that from the very beginning of starting Chaos and Coffee and I feel like it’s finally showing in the back end of the blog as well! (Also a little shoutout to everyone who has supported me over the last 2.5 years in blogging and influencing. I wouldn’t be where I am without you guys!)
5. Post 2-3 Times Per Week on the Blog
This is something I’m already a bit behind on hahahah. I felt like I was finally at a good place with where I was on the blog over the holiday season. I was posting 3-4 times per week and I felt like the content I was creating was well-received. Now, I know it’s natural for that to drop after the holidays are over, but I want to do all I can on my end to keep posting interesting and quality content each week. I want to be a consistent resource where people know they can come and find things about fashion, beauty, lifestyle, etc, and to do that, I feel that I should be consistent with my posts. So, (obviously starting next week since I’m already a little behind this week) one of my last goals for 2021 for the blog is to have new posts come out 2-3 times per week here on the blog. I’m believing in myself that I can do it!!
So there you have it! Those are my goals for 2021 pertaining to the blog here. Again, as you can probably already tell just by reading this post, this week was a little off kilter for me. But again, I’m going to really try to focus on giving myself grace this year and not stress too much if things don’t go exactly to plan.
Thanks so much for reading and I’m looking forward to seeing what 2021 has in store. What are a few of your own goals for 2021 you’re hoping to achieve?? Let me know in the comments below! Also check out my post from this time last year where I shared “How I’m Changing My Health Goals for 2020!” I felt so much better throughout the year implementing these changes into my everyday life!
Xx.
Great post!!! My biggest goal in 2021 is to grow my blog! Wishing you all the best this year 🙂
